Excel Data Specialist
Owner-Friendly Excel
Your business needs to solve a numbers problem or a data problem, but you don't have the right person in-house to get to the answer.
As a former investment banker, I leveraged Excel to analyze multi-billion dollar debt portfolios and structure bond issuances. As an independent consultant, I offer the same acumen without the overhead of a large consulting firm.

"Can Excel solve my problem?"

-
Great question to ask an Excel person!

-
We will do an initial call, and then I prepare a short video demo, because Excel is better explained visually. Then, you can ask any follow up questions and make an informed decision.

Browse through my Excel case studies if you are curious about the kinds of solutions Excel has provided for other businesses.
"How much of a commitment is it to hire you to work on my data?"

-
Your data is not tethered to me - it's yours. I establish a transparent structure by providing detailed, visual notes and if you'd like, train your employees. Transparency ensures easy switchovers between data systems, be it Excel or a different data system. That's why I like to call it "owner-friendly Excel".

"Client Confidentiality?"

-
Of course. I will sign my name to an NDA.
-
File sharing: secure Cloud service either chosen by the client or provided by me.

"How do you structure training?"

-
I like to train using actual examples from your work. We are motivated to learn Excel when we see how Excel can make our jobs easier and more error-proof.

"Reasons to Love Excel?"

-
Someone, somewhere, other than me, must've asked this question.

-
Avoid business disruptions. Excel can create a data schematic for your employees and future data specialists. It means when an employee leaves, you don't worry about running the same monthly reports they used to run. It also means when you switch to a different data subscription service, you don't worry about losing any part of your data.

-
Present numbers persuasively. Excel is a flexible and powerful tool that can deliver simple and elegant solutions. Many data software offer preset templates, but your data story may not fit neatly into a mold.

-
Trust your numbers. Excel can provide consistent data verification methodologies to ensure data integrity, so you can catch any mistakes and avoid a mea culpa to your clients.

About Me
Here are some case studies with client references to showcase my work with Excel and as a consultant.
Problem: Preserving trades history when moving to a different trading platform.
Client Reference: Gail Maidenbaum (Industry: Finance. LinkedIn)
The solution organized years of data, matched accounts to client households to streamline transition paperwork, and provides easy access to data from the prior trading platform.
This database has been, and is still being utilized, to collect accurate trades history for any combination of clients, accounts, securities, or transaction type.
Excel was absolutely necessary to solve some of the problems I have encountered in my career, and the solutions that I achieved fueled my professional growth.

-
I customized data exchange between Excel and specialized industry software for a new client, to generate real-time, detailed reports during live bond deals.

-
I used VBA Macros extensively to build a bond model that automated calculations and analyses that would normally take weeks. Completing this project contributed to my promotion to VP in Public Finance Investment Banking, because I created a tool that saved time in our day-to-day work.
